Ormer FC travelled to Milton Keynes to take part in the MK Gallacticos U15 summer 7 aside tournament. Suffice to say despite playing up and age group the Ormer boys found themselves up against some physically challenging opposition. Drawn in Group A Ormer kicked off the completion against the the Real Luton FC.
In a tight opening affair the Ormers tried to play their pass and move football, whilst the opposition relied upon pace and power. In an intriguing game both teams had opportunities to take the lead, but both had to settle for a goalless draw in which the defensive units of both teams came out on top.
The second game saw Ormer come up against a powerful Stony Stratford FC team. Despite racing into a 1-0 lead, curtesy of a fine strike from Joe Adams, the Ormers were soon pegged back and eventually succumbed 3-1
Game three saw the Ormers come up against Wolverton Tigermouth FC. In an end to end contest both teams slugged out a 0-0 draw. Ormer coming closest to stealing the points after a fine move culminated in a finish from Brandon Weysom which was saved by the Wolverton keeper.
In game four the Ormers once again battled with their physically superior rivals and held on to a 1-1 draw. The game against Newport Pagnell Town was a fine example of how the Ormers tried to retain possession and out manoeuvre their opponents by moving the ball quickly. Once again the Ormers had to settle for a draw.
In the final game of the group the Ormers came up against Crawley Green FC. Once again the opposition was physically imposing and despite going behind to a world class finish the Ormers battled back to snatch a 1-1 draw.
After 5 games the Ormers had drawn 4 and lost 1. A fantastic experience for the Ormers to play against older opposition and find new solutions to the problems they faced in game situations.
