WIRE Soccer Academy - Kenya

Ormer FC in conjunction with Darren Lewin, Jess Tough and Stuart Moseley have made a small contribution to the continued success of the WIRE Soccer Academy in Kenya.

All of the players at the club contributed much loved but outgrown kit, shin pads, track suits and boots to be donated to such a worthy cause. It’s clearly obvious from the photographs that the kit will receive a new lease of life in Kenya rather than lie at the bottom of a wardrobe.

If you look closely enough in the photos you will see amongst the Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool kits, an Aztec track suit and even a Guernsey FC shirt! No doubt in years to come the Ormer FC kit will also make the same journey.

The Mission of the WIRE Soccer Academy is to help break the cycle of poverty by building strong communities, by working with various partners and communities to empower individuals and families with opportunities for the furtherance of education, healthcare and skills needed to affect life change within their communities

The volunteers are working to promote life change in the east African country of Kenya and football has become an integral element in the battle to create lasting change. The Academy is currently operational in the town of Oyugis and will eventually expand to the surrounding areas. The WIRE Academy programs provide resources and hope to those caught in the cycle of poverty. Through the fantastic work of this organization they are Bridging Kenyans to Education, Healthcare and Life Change.

To Simon and all the volunteers in Kenya, keep up the great work.
